Developmental Therapy helps those children who show any type of physical, mental, social, self-help or speech delays. Children with diagnoses such as language disorder, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, prematurity, sensory impairments, hearing or vision impairments, various syndromes, autism and other disorders are eligible for early-intervention services.
We work with all children from birth to age 3 who are developmentally delayed or have a diagnosed condition that affects their health and development. Developmental Therapy services include assessments, special instruction, parent training, physical and occupational therapy, speech and oral motor therapy, assistive technology assessments, sensory integration treatment to name a few. Children are served at home, in their day care, or other community centers. Referrals are accepted from physicians, health clinics, parents, family members, friends or anyone concerned about a child’s development.
A typical Developmental Therapy session in your home would begin with parents sharing about challenges happening at home and other environments. You would have opportunity to communicate your goals for your child, and determine in what areas your family may need support. The Early Interventionist then coaches the parent on how to develop their child’s skills in typical daily routines. The Early Interventionist is an expert in education who collaborates with you, the parent, the EXPERT on your child!
Every child and family is special and has different needs, different resources to meet those needs, and different goals for their child. Rehab At Your Place, LLC works with the family to set realistic goals for the child supports techniques, special instruction and play-based learning to meet those needs.. We can work with you, your family, and your child’s daycare to maximize integration of your goals for your child with activities of daily living.
